The iPhotometer

What is the iPhotometer?

The iPhotometer (patent pending) is a sun-photometer that can be used to estimate aerosol optical depth and size distribution. See the video at http://youtu.be/lKyO9Utcjd8  . The iphotometer uses a cell phone with a GPS. The iphotometer was developed by STC with NASA funding.

Above is photo made using iPhotometer.  Blocker is in the center with the sun image near green cross hairs. The light around the sun is called the solar aureole. The iPhotometer uses that light to estimate particle sizes.
